The Swan (Le Cygne) from The Carnival of the Animals is one of the most beautiful melodies ever written for a string instrument. It's also the only movement of the suite that Saint-Saëns allowed to be published in his lifetime. This edition gives you two complete arrangements in one purchase:
• Cello solo version: the cello sings the famous melody, with the violin accompanying.
• Violin solo version: the violin takes the melody, with the cello accompanying.
Either player can take the spotlight, or you can play both versions in the same programme and give each instrument its turn.
Arranged by Mislav Brajković, a Vienna-based cellist who performs with the Xylos Duo (violin & cello), including at Vienna's Musikverein.
